There are special rules on how to send the samples to Canada to avoid unnecessary border fees. If you use FedEx, please put our FedEx Custom Broker number (ask us), on the shipping documents-this will facilitate the parcel delivery.
Discuss your project with us before sending it in. We want to be sure that we can deliver what you need. Always ask how much sample do we need for testing. Do not send too much. Each sample must be in a separate container and each sample must be labelled.
PayPal is our preferred method of receiving the payment from all non-Canadian clients. It is safe for us and safe for your company. We send you an e-invoice by email and you or your company can pay it at any time with a Credit Card.
These instructions are for clients, who send samples from USA, Europe and Asia. If you are shipping within Canada or want to bring the samples in person, please visit different instruction pages.
First, make sure that your samples are safely packed. Each sample must be placed in an individual sealable Ziploc bag. Please label the bag using a permanent marker. Enclose all your samples into a larger bag. Download and fill out the request form. The form should be sent together with the samples.
- We accept international shipments by USPS, FedEx, and DHL.
- Please use proper packaging: a padded envelope, or a box.
- Do not send samples in a plain paper envelope, it is not designed to hold hard or sharp objects. The paper envelopes ALWAYS come torn, and often without any samples inside.
- Please check your local laws and regulations to make sure that it is legal to send construction materials from your state (USA). To the best of our knowledge, some states prohibit shipment of vermiculite in parcels.
- Do not send flammable liquids, corrosive substances, or any Dangerous Goods. Please talk to us first.
- When you prepare international shipping papers, please make sure that they are prepared correctly. An incorrect customs declaration may cause your samples be returned or disposed of by the customs agents.
- Your international courier will ask for “description of goods”. All samples are different, but you can give general description as “constructional material for laboratory testing” or “environmental samples”
- You’ll be asked about the “value of goods”. Your samples have no commercial value and the cost must be specified at $1.00.
- If you have an account with a courier company, please select “taxes and duties are paid by sender”, this will accelerate the border transition. We will reject the samples if we are asked to pay the duties.
