PPB was established in 2014, and now operates in a modern laboratory facility located in North York, Ontario.

Technical Sales Representative

We are currently hiring for a technical sales representative to join our growing team. The technical sales representative is responsible for maintaining and developing high quality long term relationships with our customers. The successful candidate should also have an understanding of the technical nature of our service provision which includes: managing accounts, prospecting for new business, negotiating client agreements and meeting with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Territory Planning/ Management for new business development
  • Working with management to develop sales strategies and new business prospects
  • Responding to customer inquiries and resolving any related technical issues
  • Attending training and sales meetings as required
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Conduct themselves in a professional manner and represent the company to the highest standard
  • Maintain thorough understanding of the cannabis industry, competitive landscape and any applicable regulations

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in life sciences preferred
  • Previous sales/account management and familiarity with environmental and cannabis testing are assets, but we will provide training as well
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Maintain customer relations and build new relationships
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Candidates must reside in the GTA and legally eligible to work in Canada (this is NOT a remote position)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Compensation: $45,000.00-$75,000.00 per year or option of commission base pay

Director of Business Development

We are currently hiring for a Director of Business Development to join our growing team. The Director of Business Development is responsible for supporting the organization’s reputation for excellence, overseeing business development as well as strategic activities for the laboratory testing services and delivering an exceptional client experience. The successful candidate will have a proven track record and reputation for building and nurturing relationships, providing exceptional customer service and delivering solutions to achieve our client’s needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and secure new business targets
  • Maintain a current knowledge of the services market including up to date knowledge of competitors, both direct and indirect, and client developments
  • Work alongside the marketing team to build sales strategies to meet business objectives including target identification, market analysis and networking activities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sales strategies to accelerate revenue and higher case volume
  • Identify, co-ordinate and build strong business networks for lead generation and secure business leads and opportunities
  • Prepare and maintain internal business development documentation, hold internal business development meetings as required, and manage activities
  • Work collaboratively with laboratory to implement strategic business plans

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in life sciences preferred
  • At least 10-15 years’ experience in B2B sales (preferably in an analytical laboratory testing service field), with a successful track record as a business development professional
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proactive self-starter with excellent time management skills and able to work under pressure
  • Creative and solutions-oriented approach to investigate new lead opportunities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Candidates must reside in the GTA and legally eligible to work in Canada (this is NOT a remote position)

Chemistry Technician (for future vacancies)

The chemistry technician will be responsible for providing support and assisting analysts and following laboratory procedures and guidelines as specified. The successful candidate should have background knowledge for the operations of an analytical laboratory and demonstrated knowledge of lab safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow instructions and specifications of senior analysts, chemists, and other researchers
  • Select and set up the required laboratory equipment for tests, experiments and analyses
  • Conduct lab tests for qualitative and quantitative analyses of various sample, substances and materials
  • Assist with preparation of chemical solutions
  • Maintain a neat and clean lab and sterilize all work surface and equipment
  • Interpret results and compile any technical reports or documentation as required Be up to date on laboratory safety requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • College diploma in laboratory technician or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, observational, and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Candidates must reside in the GTA and legally eligible to work in Canada (this is NOT a remote position)
